Ithaca College junior Amanda Callanan and Stevens Institute of Technology junior back Lindsay Stoll were honors as the Empire 8 Women's Soccer Players of the Week for the week ending Sept. 23.

Callanan scored a pair of goals in back-to-back Bomber victories to be named Offensive Player of the Week. Callanan scored the game's only goal against 2011 NCAA quarterfinalist Cortland and added a goal in Ithaca's 2-0 win at Houghton.

The Bombers, who are off to a program-best 8-0-0 start, host conference opponent Hartwick at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 26.

Stoll was named the conference’s Defensive Player of the Week for her role in the Ducks’ 3-1 win over Nazareth. Stoll scored via a header for the insurance goal in the 82nd minute off a corner kick, for her second tally in as many games.

The Ducks are back in action on Wednesday evening, September 26 as they travel to Drew University for a 7 p.m. kickoff. The team will return home for a highly anticipated showdown with nationally ranked Ithaca College in Hoboken on Saturday at 2 p.m.
