Quigg Wins 250th As Bombers Post Program's First 8-0-0 Start Ever
Houghton, N.Y. -- The Ithaca College women's soccer team (8-0-0, 2-0-0 Empire 8), ranked eighth by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and ninth by D3soccer.com, remained unbeaten and untied with a 2-0 win at Empire 8 newcomer Houghton (5-4-0, 1-1-0 Empire 8) on Saturday, Sept. 22. The win was the 250th at Ithaca for head coach Mindy Quigg and puts the Bombers at 8-0-0 for the first time ever.
Quigg, in her 19th year as the Bomber coach, is now 250-81-44 at Ithaca and owns an overall coaching record of 274-95-51.
The Bombers have won their first eight games for the first time in the program's 1981 inception. The 1984 team had opened 7-0-0 and the 1989 team was undefeated through 24 games (17-0-7) before losing to UC San Diego in the NCAA championship game.
Ithaca continues conference play Tuesday, hosting Hartwick at 4 p.m.
