Crocetti, Burgher Pick up E8 Weekly Volleyball Honors
Nazareth senior Brittany Crocetti and Houghton freshman Hattie Burgher have been honored for their performances during the week of September 17-23.
Crocetti was named the Player of the week while Burgher was named Rookie of the Week.
Brittany Crocetti averaged 10.33 assists per set as the Golden Flyers won all three of their matches at the Empire 8 Crossover. Her 124 assists included 43 in a four-set win over Elmira Saturday and 45 in a five-set triumph over Houghton Friday. She also dished out 36 helpers in the 3-0 sweep over Alfred.
Nazareth plays a non-conference match at Brockport Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Burgher totaled 33 kills, 56 digs and four blocks in a 3-1 week for Houghton. The Highlanders started the week with a 3-0 sweep of D’Youville College before going 2-1 in the first Empire 8 crossover weekend. Burgher finished with seven kills and 24 digs in the five set loss to Nazareth and posted her third double-double (10 kills, 13 digs) of the season in the 3-0 win against Utica Friday night. She was one kill away from her second double-double on the weekend as she totaled nine kills and 15 digs in the win over St. John Fisher.
Houghton will be back in action Tuesday September 25, when they host Pitt-Bradford at 7:00 p.m. at the Nielsen Center.
