Four Empire 8 teams remained in the latest American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) poll.

St. John Fisher is the highest ranked E8 team at No. 8, moving up a spot from last week. The Cardinals cruised to a 43-13 win over previously-undefeated Hartwick College on Saturday. It is the fifth time since 2004 that the Cardinals have won their first four games.

Fisher is idle this week and will return to action on Saturday, October 6th when they host nationally ranked Salisbury University.

Salisbury (2-1) received 548 points in the poll and remained at No. 11 after a bye week.  The Gulls are back in action Saturday when they travel to Buffalo, N.Y., to open Empire 8 play at Buffalo State College at noon.

The Bengals dropped out of the top 25 but are still one of 36 schools also receiving votes.

The undefeated Ithaca Bombers (3-0) moved up 12 spots in the poll. The Bombers received 48 points, good for fifth among the "other teams receiving votes" (30th overall). Ithaca continues Empire 8 play Saturday, hosting a 1 p.m. game against the Utica Pioneers.
