Nazareth's Cary earns Empire 8 honors
ROCHESTER, N.Y. --
Christine Cary, senior on the Nazareth women's tennis team, has been honored as Empire 8 Conference Player of the Week for the seven-day period that ended Sept,. 2.
A native of Selkirk, N.Y., Cary helped the Golden Flyers split a pair of dual matches to open the season last weekend. She accounted for Nazareth's only point with a 7-6, 6-1 victory at third singles against Geneseo last Friday. She also posted a 6-4, 6-3 singles win Saturday as Nazareth knocked off Empire 8 Conference rival Stevens, 5-4.
Nazareth is back in action Saturday and Sunday at the Mary Hosking Invitational at William Smith.
