Empire 8 Swimming & Diving Teams Earn National Ranks

The Empire 8 Athletic Conference has three men's and one women's swimming and diving team ranked in the latest CollegeSwimming.com national rankings.

Stevens Institute of Technology men's team is ranked seventh in the poll with 44.59 points. The Ducks dropped to a dual-meet to nationally ranked Johns Hopkins University last Saturday by a final of 141-118.

The Ducks will visit No. 6 The College of New Jersey on January 27 in Ewing, N.J.

The Ithaca men’s team is ranked 11th with 52.93 points after defeating Rochester 217-77 last weekend.

The Hartwick men complete the poll at No. 25 after remaining undefeated on the season (13-0) with a dominate 188-87 win against Alfred University.  The Hawks return to action on January 26 as they face St. Lawrence in Canton, NY. 

The Bomber women stand 24th in the national rankings with 61.37 points following the 196-104 dual-meet victory over Rochester this past Saturday.

Ithaca’s swimming & diving teams will compete in a dual meet Saturday at Alfred, and the Bomber divers will host the Dick Comanzo Memorial Diving Invitational on Sunday at the Athletics & Events Center Aquatics Pavilion. Diving competition begins at noon.

Points for the CollegeSwimming.com Top 25 are calculated using the average percentile rank of each team's top twenty-seven in each meet.  The Top 25 are ranked according on the basis of each team's highest-scoring meet within the previous three weeks.
