Ithaca Women's Basketball Takes Over First Place With Win Over Hartwick
Ithaca 53, Hartwick 45
The Ithaca College women's basketball team took over first place in the Empire 8 with a 53-45 win over visiting Hartwick on Saturday afternoon at Ben Light Gymnasium. The Bombers held the Hawks to just 28.8 percent shooting from the field and Ithaca improved to 16-2 overall this season and 8-1 in the Empire 8. It was the first conference loss for Hartwick, as the Hawks fell to 15-4 on the season and 7-1 in the conference.

Stevens 69, Elmira 66
Senior forward Avis Benjamin scored 24 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the Stevens Institute of Technology women's basketball team to a 69-66 Empire 8 win at Elmira College Saturday afternoon.
Benjamin scored on four separate occasions inside of five minutes to help the Ducks to the conference win that improved their overall record to 9-9 and their E8 mark to 6-4.

Utica 86, Alfred 43
Sophomore Samantha Stayer netted a season-high 20 points to guide the Utica College women's basketball team over Empire 8 rival Alfred University, 86-43, Saturday on the road. Five Pioneers scored in double-digits including a double-double effort from junior Bridget Greenwald who tallied 11 points and a game-high 13 rebounds.
UC evens its overall record at 10-10 while improving to 6-4 in conference play. The Saxons fall to 5-14 on the season and remain at the bottom of the league standings at 0-10.

St. John Fisher 64, Houghton 41
The St. John Fisher College women's basketball team defeated Houghton College 64-41 on Fisher's Bobby Wanzer Court Saturday afternoon. Shooting efficiency played a big role in the game, as the Cardinals shot 40% from the field compared to Houghton's 29%.
