The Soaring Eagles would get off to a strong start against the Lakers as they would record the first goal of the game 12:59 into the first half. After some confusion in front of the cage, Sarah Harden '14 would collect the ball and find Alli Gilbert '16 waiting for the pass. Gilbert finished the shot past the goalie to give EC the 1-0 lead.

Thomas made the initial save of the Oswego State shot, but Ashley Collins followed up the rebound and finished her shot past the Purple and Gold defense. The game would stay tied 1-1 as the first half came to a close.

Despite a reinvigorated group of Soaring Eagles, it was the Lakers who did not waste any time breaking the tie as Ashley Fiorille put back a rebound just 2:47 into the second half. The Soaring Eagles attempted to tie the game and had a good chance in the closing seconds, however Ashley Palmer '16's shot off of a penalty corner went wide of the goal as time expired.
