Elmira 3, Pennsylvania College 0
The Elmira College women's volleyball team (12-7) posted a 3-0 road win over the Wildcats of Pennsylvania College of Technology (4-14).  In tonight's win, history was made as Taryn Rumsey moved into sole possession of sixth place in Elmira College's All-Time Record Book for career kills as she upped her four-year total to 1,372.

Elmira began tonight's non-conference match in strong form, dropping just 10 points in the opening set. Maybe more impressive was Elmira's efficiency in the first set as they totaled 11 kills with just two errors on 24 attempts for a team hitting percentage of .375, EC's fourth highest hitting percentage in a single set this season.

From there, Elmira continued their dominance by claiming the next two sets at 25-18 and 25-20.  In total, the Purple and Gold boasted a team hitting percentage of .243, their second best hitting percentage of the year.  EC's highest hitting percentage of the 2013 season (.432) came against the same team, Pennsylvania College of Technology, just four days ago.

The Soaring Eagles were led offensively by Rumsey, who totaled 12 kills to move her into sixth place on Elmira College's All-Time list for career kills, passing former EC standout Jamie Callahan.  Ashley Heiman chipped in with a career high 10 kills while classmate Sami Hanes '16 guided the EC offense with 25 assists.  Hanes was also a key contributor on defense as she made eight digs.  Catherine Miller and Amanda Blinkinsop '16 also combined to make 15 digs in today's contest.

Houghton 3, Alfred State 0
The Houghton Volleyball team beat the Pioneers of Alfred State College 3-1 in tonight's match.

The Highlanders opened up with a close 25-21 loss, but regained their momentum to come back strong in games 2, 3, and 4.

Hattie Burgher  had 11 kills, 10 digs, and 2 blocks, giving her a double double. Hannah Compeau contributed with 8 kills, 17 digs, and 3 aces, Meagan Palm with 6 kills and 6 blocks, and Jaime Green with 31 assists, 9 digs, and 2 kills. Both Laurel Wroblicky and Alyssa Quimby contributed defensively; Wroblicky with 32 digs and Quimby with 17 digs.

Buffalo State 3, St. John Fisher 1
The St. John Fisher College volleyball team battled, but came up short, losing in four sets (8-25, 29-27, 12-25, 20-25) to the Buffalo State Bengals, Tuesday night at Bobby Wanzer Court.

The Bengals got off to a strong start, scoring 20 of the set's first 24 points including 10 straight points.

Fisher would shake off the first set however, jumping out to a 6-2 lead in the second frame.  Buffalo State would climb back into the set; eventually taking a 19-15 lead, but the Cardinals would rally, tying the score at 23-23.  Neither team would give an inch, as each exchanged points until Fisher registered three unanswered points to claim a 29-27 win.

The visiting Bengals bounced back in the fourth, stretching their lead to 21-5 en route to a 25-12 win.

In the deciding set, the Cardinals tried to overcome a six point gap, but were unable to make up the ground as Buffalo held on to clinch the win.

Rachael Kline had 11 kills to go along with four blocks, while Megan Miller smashed 10 kills and came up with six digs.  Jessica Simonetti paced Fisher with 17 digs, and Erica Stickler had a team-high 19 assists.
