Nazareth sophomore Brett Barton fired a 1-under-par score of 71 Monday to pace the Golden Flyers during the second day of competition at the Nazareth Invitational at Irondequoit Country Club. Nazareth inched up to fourth place in the two-day, six-team event with a total score of 640. Utica shot a 353 on Monday to finished with a two-day score of 704.

University of Ottawa won the event with a 583 stroke total. Clarkson (618) was second, followed by Hobart (630), Nazareth (640), Monroe Community College (648) and Utica (704).

Barton shot 76 in Sunday's first round at Monroe Golf Club and had a two-day total of 147 to finish in third place individually. Ottawa had the top two scorers in Curtis Dancy (71-67 -- 138) and Jordan Rochon (68-74 -- 142).

Senior Ben Waldman shot 79 Monday and finished in a tie for 20th place with a two-round total of 161. Next was sophomore James Sergeant, who fired an 80 for a 163 total.

Other competitors for Nazareth included freshman Jon Gerken (84-87 -- 171); junior Andrew Lund (83-88 -- 171); senior Nick Polito (82-91 -- 173); junior Dan Strack (88-87 -- 175); and sophomore Caleb Maguire (94-101 -- 195).


UC was led by sophomore Ryan Stalker who carded an 83 in his final round of the Fall season.

Junior captain Christian Leogrande finished second for UC on day two with an 88 while sophomore Robert Broccoli turned in an 89.  Senior Matthew Dziekan placed fourth for Utica wrapping up the team scorecard with a 93.
