Bombers Fifth in National Poll; Naz Receiving Votes
The Ithaca College women's soccer team (11-1, 4-0 E8) improved its ranking in the
National Soccer Coaches Association of America National Poll that was released on Tuesday, Oct. 15. The Bombers moved to No. 5 in the country after going 2-0 last week. Ithaca defeated conference foe Elmira, 3-0, before defeating Houghton by a score of 1-0. The Bombers' ranking matches a season high, reached on Sept. 10 after a victory over then No. 2 Emory.
Nazareth College (8-3-2, 4-0 E8) is among teams also receiving votes in the national poll. The Golden Flyers posted three shutouts last week. Nazareth defeated Houghton 1-0, followed by a 2-0 win against Stevens and a 3-0 triumph over Elmira.
The Bombers are also ranked in the top-10 in the most recent
D3Soccer.com poll, sitting at No. 8 in the national rankings.
The
NSCAA East Region ranking has the Bombers at No. 2 followed by Nazareth College at No. 7.
Ithaca and Nazareth will face off on Saturday, Oct 19 in Rochester. The match is set to start at 1 p.m.
