Nazareth defeats Alfred in women's swimming, 128-106

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Visiting Alfred won eight of the 13 events, but strong depth enabled Nazareth's women's swimming and diving team to prevail in a dual meet Saturday, 128-106. Freshman
Bridget Geary won the 100-meter freestyle and swam on the winning 400-meter relay to pace the Golden Flyers.
Geary posted a winning time of 1:03.21 to finish first in the 100 freestyle. In addition, she was joined in the winning relay by freshman
Lillian Masters, junior
Emma Dorschel and senior
Emily Sauter to post a winning time of 4:18.70.
Sauter also won the 50-meter freestyle (:28.32), while junior
Brittany Friedrich won the 100-meter breaststroke and freshman
Cameron Hess won the 800-meter freestyle.
Nazareth also had close races in the 100-meter backstroke as Sauter (1:11.39) was touched out by Alfred's Chrissy Behr (1:11.29) and in the 400-meter freestyle as Hess (4:50.04) finished by Alfred's Dylan Staniszewski (4:48.69).
Nazareth is home again Saturday to host St. Lawrence at 1 p.m.
