Utica 1, Washington & Jefferson 0
The Utica College field hockey team stretched its winning streak to five games as it downed Empire 8 opponent Washington & Jefferson College 1-0 Saturday morning at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium. Junior Alaina Stojkovski extended her scoring streak to five games as she scored the lone goal of the contest.

After a scoreless first half, Stojkovski netted her ninth goal of the season, unassisted, as she ran down toward the left side of the net and put a low shot in the opposite side of the net to give UC the 1-0 lead. That was all the Pioneers needed as sophomore Kells Casey shut the door, making four saves for her conference-best sixth shutout of the season.

Kira Bunker made seven saves in the loss as the Presidents dropped to 11-6 (2-4 Empire 8) on the season. UC improves to 13-3 overall and 6-1 in the E8.

Ithaca 5, St. John Fisher 2
The Ithaca College field hockey team (9-6, 3-3) defeated St. John Fisher Saturday evening, dropping the Cardinals by a score of 5-2 at Higgins Stadium. Junior Danielle Coiro led the way offensively for the Bombers with two goals on the day. Junior Amber Foose, sophomore Olivia Salindong and senior Katie Kennedy each added a goal in the victory. Freshman goalkeeper Katie Lass made five saves on seven shots, pushing her record to 9-6 overall on the year.

Fisher scored first, sneaking a shot past Lass on a scrum in front in the third minute to take the early 1-0 lead.

The Bombers responded with back-to-back goals in the 11th and 13th minutes to jump out to a 2-1 advantage. Sophomore Taylor O'Neil assisted on the first Ithaca score, sending a pass across the slot to Foose who slammed home the shot on the far post. Coiro scored her first of the day less than two minutes later, sneaking a loose ball in front past the Fisher goalkeeper to put the Bombers ahead.

The Cardinals scored again in the 22nd minute, evening the score at 2-2 after one half of play.
Just 7:32 into the second half, the Bombers scored to once again take the lead. Senior Emily Lash started the play with a pass out on a penalty corner. Her pass found Salindong, who then sent a shot towards the Cardinal net. Coiro tipped the ball in front, marking her second goal of the day.

The Bombers continued to pour on the offense, adding goals from Salindong (51:05) and Kennedy (69:35). Ithaca's offensive output in the second half proved to be too much for the visiting Cardinals, as the Bombers pulled away to earn the 5-2 victory.

Hartwick 1, Houghton 0
Kelly Kramer's goal in the 64th minute was all that Hartwick field hockey needed as it held on to defeat visting Houghton 1-0 on Saturday afternoon at Wright Stadium. The Hawks, who snap a three-game winless streak, improve to 5-11 on the season while the Highlanders fall to 4-11.

The game was scoreless in the first half. The Hawks had a couple of chances in the first 1:34 of the period but both ofJessica Ott's shots were denied by Houghton goalie Emily Thompson.

Hartwick controlled possession throughout most of the second half. The Hawks continued to attack the Houghton zone but could not break through. Kramer ended the tie when she put away a shot from the left side of the cage past Thompson and in to give the Hawks a 1-0 lead.

The Highlanders had opportunities in the final minutes of the game. Tatum McLeod had a pair of shots denied by Hartwick goalie Shannon Carter. Jenna Newcombe's shot with 13 seconds to play went wide of the goal and out of play and the Hawks would come away with the victory.

Houghton had a narrow 9-8 lead in shots in the game despite the Hawks outshooting them 5-3 in the second period and all three of the Highlanders shots came in the final 1:33 of the contest.

Carter had four saves in the cage for the Hawks and recorded her first career shutout. Thompson stopped five shots for the Highlanders.

Stevens 9, Elmira 1
Six players scored goals including a hat trick from sophomore forward Dailyn Brook as the Stevens Institute of Technology field hockey team completed a perfect Empire 8 regular season with a 9-1 win over Elmira College Saturday afternoon at the De Baun Athletic Complex.

With the win, Stevens improves to 7-0 in the Empire 8 and 12-5 overall. The Ducks have now won their last 20 regular season conference outings dating back to a September 17, 2011 loss at Utica College. This clean E8 regular season ledger is the second straight for Stevens.

The nine goals for the Ducks ties the single-game program mark originally set on October 13, 2007 against Elmira College. The Ducks were one shy of the single-game points mark of 25 set in that same game, tallying 24 behind the nine goals and six assists.
