The Ithaca College men's cross country team recorded a fourth-place finish out of 12 teams Saturday at the New York State Collegiate Track Conference Cross Country Championship at the Hamilton College Golf Course. Ithaca, who tallied 89 points, has placed in the top five each of the last six years. 

Rookie Sean Phillips (East Aurora, N.Y./East Aurora) again paced the Bombers on the eight-kilometer course. He finished 10th out of 127 runners with a 27:02.00 finish. Junior Dennis Ryan (Coventry, R.I./Coventry) followed in 11th clocking a 27:06.60 finish.

Sophomores Sawyer Hitchcock (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) and Stephen Gomez (Orleans, Mass. /Nauset Regional) ran consecutively, placing 19th and 20th with times of 27:30.70 and 27:32.00.

Senior Samuel Horwath (Kutztown, Pa./Kutztown Area) crossed the finish line 30th with a time of 27:48.40. Sophomore Larkin Bohanan (East Aurora, N.Y./East Aurora) and rookie Shane Connor (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South) rounded out the Bombers' top seven. They finished in 28:16.50 and 28:17.90, respectively.

Utica freshman Sam Anderson (Brantingham, NY/South Lewis) placed 12th overall and was named second team all-conference as the Pioneers finished fifth with 124 points and an average team time of 27:39.

Senior Eric Stevens (Rome, NY /Holland Patent) finished second for UC and 24th overall with a final time of 27:39.3 while classmate Morgan Payne (Williamstown, NY/Altmar-Parish-Williamstown) mirrored the same time placing 25th, just three tenths of a second behind Stevens with a clock of 27:39.6. 

Freshman Josh Lee (Glens Falls, NY/Glens Falls) followed Payne by less than second in 26th place with a time of 27:40.2. Sophomore Kyle Cairns (Midland Park, NJ/Midland ) rounded out the Utica scoring in 37th place clocking a 28:05.

Senior Matt Fedrizzi was Nazareth's top individual in 41st place (28:21.5). Sophomore Patrick Neureuter finished in 55th place (29:30.8) and was followed by freshman Jacob Murray in 63rd place (30:29.3), senior Jake Lafaver in 64th place (30:33.7); freshman Matt Battaglia in 65th place (30:39.0); senior Zach Lafaver in 69th place and freshman Thomas Lannon in 79th place (32:31.4).

Evan Magnussen paced St. John Fisher College in the 8k event, posting a finish time of 28:00.5 (33rd overall).  

Jeff Mangiafesto was the second Cardinal to finish after completing the event with a time of 29:46.8; good for 57th place.  Sam Harbol was on Mangiafesto's heels, finishing in 58th place with a time of 30:01.0, whileDan Cleary placed 68th with a finishing time of 30:48.1.

Alfred placed 12th at the New York State championships meet. Freshman Kevin Dixon (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen) was Alfred's top runner on the 8-kilometer course, finishing 35th in 28:01.80. Freshman Luke Tesoriero(Homer, NY/Homer) was 62nd (30:24.40) and sophomore Ethan Foster (Bolivar, NY/Bolivar-Richburg) was 66th (30:43.90).
