Ithaca Races at Cornell; Hartwick Hosts Fast Track
ITHACA Results
The Ithaca College women's cross country team competed Friday at Cornell's John Reif Memorial Run. There was no team scoring for the 5,000-meter event.
Junior
Mary Claire Hartford led the Bombers with a 20:01.60 finish to place 33rd out of 61 runners. Classmate
Trisha Ignatowski followed in 35th at 20:15.00 and sophomore
Emily Krakowski ran 37th in 20:17.30.
Rookie
Emily Drain and sophomore
Sydney Glenn clocked back-to-back finishes of 43rd and 44th with times of 20:31.10 and 20:36.90. Rounding out the Bombers' top seven were sophomores
Colleen Vaughn and
Rachel Doane. They crossed the finish line with times of 21:08.50 and 21:13.80, respectively.
The Bombers will race Saturday, Oct. 26 at the NYSCTC Championship hosted by Hamilton.
HARTWICK Results
The 'Wick cross country team hosted their annual Hartwick Fast Track races on the Elmore Field Track on Friday evening and came away with a second-place finish overall. Hartwick freshman
Victoria Hathaway highlighted the night with her second consecutive individual win.
Hathaway dashed out to the early lead and she blazed to a time of 10:45.10 to claim the top spot in the 3K. Her average mile was 5:46.1 in the race. The nearest competitor to Hathaway would finish seventeen and a half seconds behind.
Justine Kozubal placed 11
th for Hartwick. She finished the run in 11:35.30.
Tricia Phillips and
Krista Poore were 16
th and 17
th, respectively. Phillips finished in 11:51.70 and Poore was just over a second behind in 11:52.80.
