Ithaca In Hunt After Opening Round At Williams
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- The Ithaca College women's golf team posted an opening-round score of 320 and stands in second place after the first round of the Williams Fall Classic. The Bombers trail host school Williams by four shots and hold a 14-stroke advantage over third-place New York University.
In the opening round, freshman
Kimberley Wong (Shouson Hill Road, Hong Kong/German Swiss International School) led Ithaca with a score of 77 on consistent nines of 38 and 39. That tied Wong's collegiate best score this season.
Sharon Li (Happy Valley, Hong Kong/Hong Kong International) posted 80 to rank second in the Bomber lineup. Ithaca's other scores that counted toward the team total were turned in by
Lisa Calcasola (Longmeadow, Mass./Longmeadow) with 41-40--81 and
Amanda Failla (Unionville, Conn./Farmington) with 41-41--82.
Kelsey Baker (Hopkinton, Mass./Hopkinton) posted 42-42--84.
Sunday's second round begins at 8:30 a.m.
