Five E8 Athletes Recognized by ECAC
The following Student-Athletes have been selected as Corvias ECAC Players of the Week for the week of October 28 through November 3.
Football - Northwest - Offensive
Tyler Fenti – St. John Fisher College
Senior, Quarterback, Honeoye Falls, NY
Fenti helped the Cardinals overcome a 20-point deficit in the first half en route to a 28-27 win against the Utica College Pioneers. Fenti completed the game with an impressive line including 24-33 passing for 203 yards and three touchdowns. The Honeoye Falls native also rushed for 56 yards on 11 carries.
Football - Northwest - Defensive
Will Carter – Ithaca College
Graduate Student, Line Backer, Thornwood, NY
Carter led an excellent defensive effort in Ithaca's 23-0 shutout of Frostburg with a career-high 15 tackles including two sacks and three tackles for loss. Ithaca's defense had one interception, five sacks, 12 tackles for loss, and limited Frostburg State to 86 total yards (51 rushing, 35 passing. Frostburg State entered the game averaging 26.4 points per game and 415 yards per game.
Women's Cross Country - Upstate
Amy Regan –Stevens Institute of Technology
Sophomore, Green Brook, NJ
For the second-straight season, sophomore Regan took home the individual title at the Empire 8 Conference Championship at Saratoga Springs State Park on Saturday. Regan blew away the field by 25 seconds with a time of 17:29.0 to break the conference meet record. She now becomes the third runner to win back-to-back titles at the Empire 8 Championship. This was her fifth win of the season and she continued her unbeaten streak against NCAA DIII competition.
Men's Soccer - Upstate - Offensive
Scott Duarte - Nazareth College
Senior, Forward, Cranston, RI
Duarte found the back of the net for the first time this season and did so in a big way as he recorded a hat-trick and added an assist Saturday. Nazareth went on to defeat Alfred, 5-1, to clinch the fourth seed in the Empire 8 Conference Tournament. The first half featured four goals, including two by Duarte. Duarte scored his first goal 13:32 into the contest and added his second goal about five minutes later. He completed the scoring in the 67th minutes as he capitalized on a deflected shot.
Women's Soccer - Upstate - Defensive
Evelyn Ting – Stevens Institute of Technology
Sophomore, Goalkeeper, Gaithersburg, MD
Ting picked up two victories in the final two matches of the regular season for Stevens with 13 total saves. She posted a shutout and six saves vs. West. Conn State on 10/31 and then made seven more against Elmira on 11/2 in a 2-1 win.
