Ithaca Swimming And Diving Ranked In National Poll
SOMERS, Wisc. -- The Ithaca College men's and women's swimming and diving teams each rank in the top-25 in the most recent
CollegeSwimming.com national poll. After a successful sweep of Cortland last week, both programs broke into the rankings. The women now rank 14th overall, while the men rank 25th.
The ranking accounts for teams' top performances over the preceding month and is the only objective ranking of swimming for NCAA Divisions I, II, and III, NAIA and NJCAA. This year's rankings utilize a new point system based on a 1,100 point scale. The new scale uses NCAA time standards and a percentile ranking of all college times over the past four years. The CollegeSwimming.com Top 25 rank teams based on their top performances over the preceding month.
Both the men and women are back in action on Nov. 23 in a three-team meet against host Hamilton, Hartwick and Geneseo.
