Stevens Off to Early Lead at NYU Fall Invite

NEW YORK, N.Y. - (November 8, 2013) – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's swimming team opened competition at the New York University Fall Invitational Friday, jumping out to an early lead on the back to two relay wins.
The Ducks opened the meet with a 3:35.07 to win the 400-yard medley relay as sophomore
Ravi Sun, sophomore
Joshua Lefeber, junior
John Rees and senior
Shawn Hanak tallied the victory by more than two seconds.
Freshman
Mark Lippert was second in the 1,650-yard relay and classmate Conner Arnott was fourth. The pair finished with times of 16:38.77 and 17:06.04, respectively.
In the final event of the evening session, Hanak, sophomore
Tomasz Wolinski, Lefeber and senior
Tyler Hessler took first in the 200-free relay with a time of 1:25.11. Both relay wins netted 24 points each.
The Ducks are in the lead with 83.5 points, NYU is in second with 63 and New Paltz is in third at 41.5
The three squads will be back in action in Manhattan Saturday in the final day of competition at the NYU Fall Invite.
