Alfred University
The Alfred University women's swimming and diving team won nine of 11 individual events and took one of two relays in defeating host William Smith 138-98 Saturday afternoon.

   Freshman Dylan Staniszewski (Oakton, VA/Oakton), senior Chrissy Behr (Manahawkin, NY/Southern Regional), senior Cassie Brown (Canisteo, NY/Canisteo-Greenwood) and sophomore Carly Watson (Hyde Park, NY/FDR) each won two events for the Saxons, who improved to 1-2 on the season.

   Staniszewski won the 200-yard freestyle (2:02.86) and 500-yard free (5:27.22); Watson won the 200-yard individual medley (2:17.96) and 100-yard butterfly (1:00.96); Brown swept the diving events, taking 1-meter with 227.10 points and 2-meter witrh223.65 points; and Behr took the 50-yard free (25.68) and 100-yard backstroke (1:03.54).

   AU freshman Faith Lanfear (Port Crane, NY/Chenango Valley) won the 1,000-yard fre in 11:40.47.

   Sophomore Kelsey McRill (Solon, OH/Solon) took second in the 100 free (57.48) and freshman Kylee Proudfit (St. Marys, PA/Elk County Catholic) was second in the 100 breaststroke (1:15.37).

   The team of freshmen Leah Zimmerman (Canandaigua, NY/Canandaigua) and Syndey Kelleher (Buffalo, NY/Holy Angels), Lanfear and Staniszewski won the 200 free relay in 1:48.82.


Hartwick v Nazareth
Gwen Mathias (Sunland, CA/Southwestern Academy) won three events to lead 'Wick. Mathias was the winner of the 800 free (9:40.37), the 200 back (2:32.04), and the 400 free (4:42.25).

Clare Nelson (South Hadley, MA/South Hadley), Lindsay Bierwert (Leeds, MA/Northampton), and Imma Rutigliano(Tillson, NY/John A. Coleman) all had two wins each. Nelson had victories in the 100 breast (1:18.03) and the 200 breast (2:47.26). Bierwert had wins in the 200 fly (2:37.31) and the 100 fly (1:09.29). Rutigliano was a winner in the 100 free (1:01.35) and the 200 IM (2:32.45).

Kaitlyn Campbell (Hanover Park, IL/Glenhard North) won the only other race for the Hawks in the 200 free (2:16.35). In the diving portion of the meet, Lindsey Bowker (Bothell, WA/Inglemoor) posted scores of 220.55 in the one meter and 259.25 in the three-meter diving events for two victories.

There was one relay win for the women. The 200 medley relay team of Allison Agate (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg), Nelson, Bierwert, and Kelsey Elliot (Cortland, NY/Homer) came in first with a winning time of 2:08.40.

Nazareth's Emily Sauter came in first place in the 100-meter backstroke (1:10.42), 50-meter freestyle (28.18) and the 200-meter freestyle relay with teammates Bridget GearyKarisa Kobel, and Amanda Rogers (1:55.49)

Sauter also came in second in the 100-meter freestyle, trailing Hartwick's Imma Rutigliano by less than a second with a time of 1:02.06.

Geary, a freshman, came in second place in the 100-meter breaststroke (1:21.56). Junior Kristen Vitale came in second place in the 200-meter butterfly (2:44.49), freshmanKaitlyn Hoag found second in the 1-meter diving event, Kimberly Pedrotti placed second in the 200-meter breaststroke (2:55.37), and Kobel placed second in the 100-meter butterfly (1:12.40).

The 200 medley relay team of freshman Autumn Hunter, sophomore Nicole Charette, Kobel and junior Emma Dorschel trailed Hartwick by five seconds, coming in second place with a time of 2:10.4


Stevens
The Stevens Institute of Technology women's swimming team placed second at the New York University Fall Invitational on Saturday in Manhattan.
 
Host NYU won the event with 396 team points, the Ducks finished with 277 team points and SUNY New Paltz was third with 119.
 
Stevens was led by junior April Lawson and freshman Danielle Caruso who each tallied a pair of individual wins for the Ducks.
 
Prelims:
Caruso started the morning prelims with a 1:59.04 in winning the 200-yard freestyle, and junior Sharon Rooker touched at 1:02.10 in the 100-yard backstroke to take third place. Lawson and sophomore Jennifer Rutledge went one-two in the 50-free, clocking times of 25.21 and 25.44, and junior Brittany Geyer carded a win in the 100-yard breaststroke with a 1:08.90.
 
Lawson earned a win in the 100-free with a time of 54.92, and sophomore Katlyn Christenson placed second in the 200-yard backstroke.
 
Geyer took the top spot in the 200-yard breaststroke, turning in a 2:30.02, and Rooker touched at 1:01.51 for a victory in the 100-yard butterfly.  Christenson continued her strong start, placing third in the 200-IM with a time of 2:16.11.
 
Finals:
Christenson, Geyer, Rooker and Lawson were second in the 200-medley relay with a time of 1:52.65 to start the afternoon finals session, and Geyer recorded a win with a 4:41.97 in the 400-IM. She was followed in second by sophomore Elizabeth Heinbach (4:44.87).
 
Caruso won the 200-free with a 1:57.18, Rooker took second in the 100-backstroke (1:01.10), and Lawson and Rutledge went one-three in the 50-free with times of 24.92 and 25.48.
 
Rooker was second in the 200-fly (2:17.06), and Lawson won the 100-free (54.44) with a win in the finals earning 12-team points. Second place took seven, third place six, all the way down to one point for eighth place in individual events.
 
Christenson was second in the 200-backstroke with a time of 2:11.91, and she was followed by freshman Claire Hendershot in third place (2:14.91).
 
Geyer finished second in the 200-yard breaststroke, clocking a 2:30.60, and Caruso earned her second win of the day in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:11.01. Heinbach was third with a 5:19.34.
 
Rooker grabbed the top-spot in the 100-yard butterfly (1:00.73), and Christenson placed second in the 200-yard IM (2:16.80), with Rooker, Lawson, Rutledge and Caurso teaming for a 3:41.92 in the 400-yard freestyle relay. The group took second and 14 team points in the final race of the day.


Utica
Three Pioneers including senior Evelyn Kurzac (Mundelein, IL/Mundelein Cons), sophomore Jessica Schumann (Nashua, NH/Nashua South) and freshman Cori Brouwer (Pearland, TX/Glenda Dawson) posted two wins apiece to lead the Utica College women's swim team over Wells College, 130-107, Saturday at the Utica College Pool. UC improves to 2-4 on the season and returns to the pool Saturday November 16th when they head to Cazenovia College for a heads up match against the Wildcats. The contest is scheduled for 1 p.m.

Kurzac totaled 22 team points as she won the 100 and 200-yard butterfly events with times of 1:16.96 and 2:55.60. Kurzac also took second in the 200-yard backstroke with a clock of 2:39.45, collecting four points.

Schumann was victorious in the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke as she posted times of 1:18.84 and 2:48.85 while Brouwer continued her surge with wins in the 100 and 500-yard freestyles.

Freshman Mikey Maxwell (Newport, NY/West Canada) also added 13 points with a win and a second place finish.
