Fredonia tops AU women’s swimming and diving team
FREDONIA, NY – Host SUNY Fredonia defeated the Alfred University women's swimming and diving team, 150-84, in a dual meet Friday evening.
Sophomore
Carly Watson (Hyde Park, NY/FDR) won the 200 individual medley (2:18.93) and 100 butterfly (1:00.63) to pace the Saxons (1-3). Junior
Chrissy Behr (Manahawkin, NJ/Southern Regional), in the 50 free (25.71), and freshman
Dylan Staniszewski (Oakton, VA/Oakton), in the 500 free (5:30.90) earned Alfred's other individual event wins.
Staniszewski also took second in the 1,650 free (19:00.51) and 200 free (2:02.38) and Behr was second in the 100 back (1:02.60). Sophomore
Kelsey McRill (Solon, OH/Solon) was second in the 100 free (57.72).
AU was second in both relays: Behr, freshman
Kylee Proudfit (St. Marys, PA/Elk County Catholic), Watson and McRill in the 200 medley relay (1:59.10) and junior
Molly Blair (Auburn, NY/Auburn), sophomore
Emma Gromelski (Clarks Summit, PA/Abington Heights) and freshmen
Sydney Kelleher (Buffalo, NY/Holy Angels) and
Leah Zimmerman (Canandaigua, NY/Canandaigua) on the 200 free relay (1:54.03).
AU is in action next on Saturday, Nov. 16, at 1 p.m. at home against Pitt-Bradford.
