Ithaca WXC, Regan and Villeneuve Qualify to NCAA Championship
HANOVER, Ind. – For the second straight season the Ithaca College women's cross country team earned an
at-large bid to the NCAA Championships to be held on Saturday, Nov. 23 at Hanover. Stevens Institute of Technology sophomore Amy Regan and Utica College sophomore Ashton Villeneuve qualified as individuals.

Thirty-two teams were selected to participate in each championship. The top two, seven-person teams automatically qualified from each of the eight regions, for a total of 16 teams. Sixteen additional teams were selected at-large.
Fifty-six individuals, the first seven athletes from each region who are not a part of a qualifying team, were selected to participate in each championship.
The Bombers last competed as a team at the NCAA Championships a season ago finishing 30th overall. Ithaca has made 20 trips to the championship meet as a team, collecting 10 top-10 finishes. Graduate studend

Alexa Rick earned all-region honors to lead the Bombers at regionals. Randall clocked a career-best 6K time of 21:24.60 to place fourth out of 269 runners. Rick placed 35th in 22:37.00.
Regan will be making her second trip to the national meet. She finished second overall at the Atlantic Regional with a time of 21:15.1.
Villeneuve clocked a final time of 21:42 in the 6k race at regionals averaging an impressive 5:50 mile to finish 10th overall. She will be making her first NCAA appearance.
