The Ithaca College women's cross country team raced to a first-place finish out of eight teams Saturday at the 2013 Empire 8 Cross Country Championships hosted at Saratoga Spa State Park. The Bombers tallied just 29 points to remain the only school to win the title since the conference began sponsoring the sport in 2003.

Stevens Institute of Technology finished as the runner-up with 74 points for its highest team finish at the conference meet. Sophomore Amy Regan repeated as the individual champion with a time of 17:29, to break the conference meet record. She becomes the third E8 athlete to win back-to-back titles, joining Ithaca's Rachel Blasiak (2005 & 2006) and Ithaca's Lindsey Nadolski (2007 & 2008).

Nazareth placed third in the team standings with 88 points, followed by Utica (120), St. John Fisher (132), Hartwick (137), Houghton (161) and Alfred (211).

Ithaca had four All-Empire 8 first-team selections. Junior Alexa Rick finished as runner-up out of 192 runners with a season-best five-kilometer time of 17:55.70. Junior Hannah Wright (18:21.60), sophomore Jaime Lisack (18:23.10) and junior Carolyn Malone (18:24.50) finished consecutively in fifth, sixth and seventh.

Nazareth sophomore Gabrielle LeBihan placed third overall in the women's five-kilometer race with a time of 18:07.  LeBihan's time of 18:07 breaks former Nazareth runner Jess Brown's five-kilometer school record of 18:14.

Utica sophomore Ashton Villeneuve earned first-team honors with a fourth place finish in a time of 18:18.5.  Senior Katie Day earned her second-team all-conference with an eighth place finish (18:26.9).

Joining Day on the second-team were Ithaca junior Meghan Cass and sophomore Rachelle Sartori. Cass placed ninth in 18:31.10 and Sartori earned a 13th-place finish with a time of 18:52.80.  Hartwick freshman Victoria Hathaway and junior Monica Prager paced the Hawks with a tenth (18:39.1) and 11th (18:45.8) place finish, respectively.

Sophomore Kate Moyer was a second-team runner for the Ducks with a time of 18:51.4 and 12th place showing.  Graduate student Lauren Jamieson was the second Nazareth runner across the line as she finished 14th with a time of 18:53 to round out the second-team honors.
