Alfred 100, Canton 96
The Alfred University men's basketball team improved to 3-0 (0-0 Empire 8) with a 100-96 win over SUNY Canton on the road Saturday afternoon.
Despite trailing 43-35 to the Kangaroos at halftime, Alfred opened the half with a 6-0 run tying the game at 43-43. AU led by as much as 12 points (72-60) with 10 minutes remaining in the contest. Canton erased that deficit and tied the game at 74-74 with seven minutes left to play. Seven late turnovers allowed Alfred to establish a six-point lead (95-89) with two minutes left in the contest, and secure the win as time expired.

Elmira 74, Hilbert 64
The Elmira College men's basketball team (1-3) rallied from a five point halftime deficit to claim their first win of the season as they downed Hilbert College (3-1), 74-64. Elmira used a strong second half effort to seal the win, knocking down 60% of their shots in the second half, six of those makes coming from beyond the arc.
Elmira was led by third-year talent
Neil Randolph '15, who scored a career-high 32 points and pulled down a team high nine rebounds. Randolph's 32 points is the most an Elmira player has scored since the 2008-09 season when former 1,000 point scorer Bobby DiPiazza '11 dropped 32 against Nazareth on February 24, 2009.
Also playing a large role in today's win was sharp-shooting
Josh Keys '14. The senior captain found his rhythm in the second half as he scored 17 of his game's 23 points in the final half of play. Of his 23 points, 18 came on three point buckets as he went 6-of-9 from the arc.

Roberts Wesleyan 93, Houghton 74 (
Box)
A 15-0 run midway through the first half gave the Roberts Wesleyan Redhawks a lead they wouldn't relinquish in a 93-74 win over Houghton in men's basketball action Saturday.
The visitors jumped out to a 9-2 lead, but Houghton slowly clawed their way back into the contest. Trailing 17-12, the Highlanders scored eight-straight points to take a 20-17 lead that was capped by a
Brandon Camacho (Dundee, NY, Dundee High School) lay-up at the 10:23 mark. The Redhawks, however, would scored the next 15 points to go up 32-20. The lead would grow to as many as 17 down the stretch of the first half. Roberts held a 45-29 lead at the half.

Ithaca 71, Wells 64
The Ithaca College men's basketball team (2-3) picked up its second win of the season Saturday afternoon, defeating the Wells Express (0-4) by a score of 71-64 at the Farenthold Athletic Wing.
Sophomore
Sam Bevan (Strafford, Pa./Conestoga) finished the game with his first career double-double, recording 18 points 10 rebounds to go along with three assists. Senior
Frank Mitchell(Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) led the Bombers with 23 points, tying a season best. He also added nine rebounds, an assist and a block.
Ithaca trailed Wells the entire first half, with the Express holding as much as an eight point lead on three different occasions in the opening frame.

Nazareth 94, Rochester 84

Jack Giles and sophomore
Maurice Mills each connected for career-high point totals for host Nazareth Saturday as the Golden Flyers defeated the University of Rochester in a non-conference men's basketball game, 94-84, at the Kidera Gymnasium.
The victory enabled Nazareth to remain unbeaten at 3-0 overall. Rochester slipped to 1-3.
Giles scored 27 points as he hit 11 of 12 shots from the field and 4-for-5 from the free-throw line. He also had four rebounds and three assists. Mills scored 23 points by making 7 of 13 shots from the field. He also had seven rebounds. Senior
Brad Ford also had a strong game for the Golden Flyers with 20 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.
The Golden Flyers took control early as Ford scored 12 of his points in the first half for a 41-34 Nazareth advantage. Nazareth continued to build upon its lead in the second half. A basket by Giles with 12:53 to go extended the advantagre to a game-high 16 points at 61-45.

St. John Fisher 85, Medaille 82
The St. John Fisher men's basketball team built a large lead in the first half and held on for its first win of the season, 85-82, against host Medaille College. The Cardinals had four players in double-digits including the freshman duo of Keegan Ryan and Zach Ottaway who had career-highs in points with 17 and 14 respectively.
The Mavericks took the early lead over the Cardinals, but Ryan's jumper five minutes into the game to make it 10-9 gave the Cardinals the lead for good.
With Fisher leading 29-24 at the five minute mark in the first half, Adam Ambielli drained a 3-point field goal. That field goal helped spark a 16-5 run to close out the stanza, with the Cardinals leading 45-29. FULL STORY
Utica 85, D'Youville 78
Three Pioneers posted double-doubles Saturday to lead the Utica College men's basketball team over D'Youville, 85-78, in the consolation game at the Hamilton College Tournament. Senior Chris Jeffers (Albany, NY/Bishop Maginn) led the way with his fourth consecutive double-double on 19 points and a game-high 22 rebounds. Junior Marion Lewis (Bronx, NY/Lehman) put up 11 points and 17 boards while classmate Marty Felicia (Phoenix, NY/Phoenix) posted a 10 point, 12 rebound day as UC snapped a two-game skid to get back to .500.
Utica improves to 2-2 on the early season and returns to the hardwood Tuesday at SUNY Cortland for a 6 p.m. tip-off. D'Youville remains winless at 0-4 and is back in action Tuesday versus Fredonia State.
UC opened up an eight point lead over the first five minutes of play to take a 16-8 advantage at 14:31. D'Youville answered with a 10-3 run of its own over the next five minutes to pull within one point, 19-18, at 10:51. That would be the closest the Spartans would get however as Utica went on a 23-7 tear to close out the first half with a commanding 42-25 lead. FULL STORY
