Cahill Places 165th at NCAA D3 Championships

Stevens Institute of Technology senior Michael Cahill placed 165th out of 275 runners at the 2013 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships at Hanover College's nationally renowned cross country course in Hanover, Indiana. Cahill, who was the first runner in program-history to qualify for the national championships, finished with a time of 26:21.4.

Cahill averaged a mile pace of 5:19 and a 1K pace of 3:18. His split times were 2k: 6:21; 3k: 9:31; 6k: 19:41 and 7k: 22:56. 

St. Olaf College (MN) won the national title in the team competition after placing three runners in the top 11 finishers to edge two-time defending champions North Central College (Ill.), 84-86.  The individual title went to Connecticut College senior Michael LeDuc. LeDuc captured first place in 24:29.3, just missing the eight-kilometer course record by seven seconds (24:22.1).
