Men’s Swimming & Diving Athlete – Stevens
Ravi Sun, Sophomore – Arkaldelphia, AK/Arkadelphia
Ravi Sun won three individual events in No. 7 Stevens' thrilling 133-129 win over No. 9 TCNJ Saturday. He took the 100-yard backstroke with a 51.58 which was almost two full seconds better than second place, and his second top-spot was in the 200-yard backstroke in which he clocked a 1:54.46. His final individual win was in the 200-IM, the second-to-last event of the meet. In that race he touched at 1:56.68 to give Stevens a chance to win the meet in the final race of the day. The 400-free relay. Sun also participated on a second-place 400-medley relay that teamed for a 1:36.33.
Women’s Swimming & Diving Athlete – Ithaca
Grace Ayer, Freshman – Delmar, NY/Bethlehem
Freshman Grace Ayer helped Ithaca to a sweep at its quad meet over the weekend, outscoring Hamilton, Hartwick and Geneseo. Ayer was part of a victory in the 200-yard medley relay, helping the Bombers earn the top spot in a time of 1:53.06. Ayer also earned a first place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:09.31 and the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:12.89. She scored a second place finish in the 100 freestyle, clocking a 55.05.
Men’s Basketball Player – Utica
Chris Jeffers, Senior, Forward – Albany, NY/Bishop Maginn
Chris Jeffers averaged a double-double, 18.5 points and 17.0 rebounds per game, as the Pioneers took home third place at the Hamilton College Invitational over the weekend. For his efforts he was named to the All-Tournament Team. He posted 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in the Pioneers' loss to eventual tournament champion Widener on Friday night. He came back with 19 points and 22 rebounds (17 defensive) on Saturday as the Pioneers defeated D'Youville 85-76. He also combined to shoot 50% from the floor for the weekend (11-of-22) and he made 14 free throws.
Men’s Basketball Rookie – Alfred
Dylan Molloy, Freshman, Guard – Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa
Dylan Molloy averaged 14 points, five assists and three steals in a pair of Saxon wins last week. He scored a game-high 25 points on 7-off-13 shooting (3-of-6 on three-pointers, 8-of-8 from the foul line) with five assists and five steals on a 100-96 win at SUNY Canton.
Women’s Basketball Player – Houghton
Kristen Moose, Senior, Guard – Swain, NY/Canaseraga
Kristen Moose average a double-double of 22 points and 11.6 rebounds to lead Houghton this past week. On Tuesday, she scored 21 points and grabbed eight rebounds against RIT. She followed it up with a 22-point, 13-rebound showing against Roberts Wesleyan on Thursday night. Moose ended her week with a game and season-high 23 points and hauled in 14 rebounds in a victory over Geneva College. She added seven assists, four steals and 13 offensive rebounds in the three games.
Women’s Basketball Rookie – Stevens
Hannah Brophy, Freshman – Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan
Hannah Brophy helped Stevens to a 2-0 week with 19 points and seven rebounds. In a 48-32 win over PSU Wilkes-Barre, Brophy netted six points with four rebounds and shot 50% from the field. Against New Paltz three days later, she tallied 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting with three boards.
