Hartwick v Rochester
Hartwick hosted the University of Rochester on Saturday afternoon at Moyer Pool and defeated the Yellowjackets to remain perfect on the season.

Brad Ranson (Pennington, NJ/Hopewell Valley) won three events to pace the men. He was first in the 200 free (1:45.94), 100 free (48.11), and the 50 free (21.60). Luke Grunewald (New Windsor, NY/Newburgh Free Academy)had two wins. He claimed victory in the 500 free (4:52.87) and the 1000 free (10:04.89). Ben Detar (Charleston, SC/Hanahan) also won two races as he was victorious in the 200 fly (1:57.67) and the 100 fly (53.90).

Jeremy Torres (Poulsbo, WA/Central Kitsap) was the only other winner on the men's side with a win in the 100 breast. Diver Aaron Soden (Ballston Spa, NY/Ballston Spa) was unopposed in the one meter and three meter diving events. He posted scores of 184.75 (one meter) and 155.75 (three meter).


Ithaca 208, Cortland 92
The Ithaca College men's swimming and diving team won its first meet of the season on Saturday, defeating the Cortland Red Dragons by a score of 208-92 at the Athletics & Events Center Aquatics Pavilion. The men finished first in 14-of-16 events, including all relays and diving events.

The team of John Carr (Brewster/Brewster)Lucas Zelehowsky (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn)Taylor Van Cott (Delmar/Bethlehem) and Peter Knight (Hyde Park/Franklin D. Roosevelt) opened races on the men's side with a win in the 400-yard medley relay. The group completed the course in a time of 3:37.29 to claim the top spot. Carr and Knight were also part of the winning 400-yard freestyle relay time, joining forces with Connor Schroyer (Clarendon Hills, Ill./Hinsdale Central) and Addison Hebert (Cranbury, N.J./Princeton) for a first place finish in a time of 3:14.65.

Individually, Carr capped off his day with a first place finish in the 100-yard freestyle, earning the top spot in a time of 48.20. Knight took first place with a time of 21.92 in the 50-yard freestyle while Zelehowsky finished first in the 200-yard butterfly (1:57.16) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:03.57).

Matt Morrison (Simsbury, Conn./Simsbury) swept all diving events, taking the top spot in the 1-meter and 3-meter dive. Morrison finished with a score of 300.60 in the 1-meter and a score of 309.75 in the 3-meter.

Other individual winners included Addison Hebert (Cranbury, N.J./Princeton) in the 200-yard freestyle (1:46.44), James Bowe (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:01.15) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:15.53), Taylor Van Cott (Delmar/Bethlehem) in the 200-yard backstroke (2:02.48) and Clement Towner (Lansing/Lansing) in the 500-yard freestyle (4:55.56).


Nazareth 170, Brockport 123
Visiting Nazareth dominated Brockport Saturday in a men's swimming and diving dual meet as the Golden Flyers won 12 of 16 events in a 170-123 victory. Nazareth improved to 2-1 overall.

The Golden Flyers also won the women's meet, 153-131, to improve to 3-0.

In the men's meet, Nazareth got four first-place finishes from sophomore Dan Burke, who won the 100 backstroke (:54.37), the 200 backstroke (2:01.24) and the 200 IM (2:04.85). He also swam on the victorious 400 medley relay team (3:44.96) that included seniors Tim Rappold and Bryan Geary and freshman Matt Leverich.

Rappold also won both breaststroke events -- coming in at 1:03.71 in the 100 and 2:21.24 in the 200. Sophomore diver Jeff Green won both events by scoring 242.90 in the 1-meter competition and 223.60 in the 3-meter.

Other winners were sophomore Sean Doyle in the 100 freestyle (:52.19), Leverich in the 500 freestyle (5:01.57) and senior Justin Sawran in the 100 butterfly (:59.42). Nazareth also captured the 400 free relay with junior Martin Piva joining Doyle, Sawran and Geary to post a time of 3:30.42.
