Alfred topples Sarah Lawrence, 121-70
BRONXVILLE, NY- The Alfred University men's basketball team improved to 6-1 (0-0 Empire 8) beating non-conference opponent, Sarah Lawrence College, 121-70, on the road Sunday afternoon.
AU held a commanding 67-40 lead at halftime and did not look back for the rest of the contest. For the game, Alfred forced Sarah Lawrence into 31 turnovers and outshot the Gryphons from the field with 38 percent, and from beyond the arc with 27 percent.
Senior center
Steve Lothridge (East Syracuse, NY/East Syracuse-Minoa (OCC)) paced the Saxons with a double-double (13 points, 14 rebounds). Junior guard
Mike Snyder (Pulaski, NY/Pulaski) added 13 points, and junior guard
Thomas Tsatsis (Neponsit, NY/Townsend Harris), freshman guard
Dylan Molloy (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa), and junior forward
Jeremy Johnson (Martinsburg, WV/Martinsburg (Sheperd University)) each tallied 12, 12, and 10 points.
Alfred returns to action against Allegheny College on Tuesday, Dec. 31, at 2 p.m.
