Saxons handle Wildcats, 115-61

ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University men's basketball team dominated Penn Tech, Sunday afternoon at McLane Center. This 115-61 decision improves Alfred to a 5-1 (0-0 Empire 8) overall record.
A dunk from junior forward
Dalton Walsh (Stockton, NY/Cassadaga Valley) topped off Alfred's biggest lead of the first half (19 points), sending them into halftime ahead of the Wildcats, 55-36.
Second half play pushed the Saxons further ahead of Penn Tech, giving them the eventual win. For the game, AU outshot Penn Tech from the field, with 46 percent compared to their 31 percent, and beyond the arc, with 35 percent compared to their 24 percent.
Senior guard
Thomas Tsatsis (Neponsit, NY/Townsend Harris) scored a game-high 13 points and pulled down six rebounds. Junior guard
Mike Snyder (Pulaski, NY/Pulaski) and freshman guard
Tyler Seelman (Lorton, VA/Hayfield Secondary) posted 12 points apiece, while senior forward
Steve Lothridge (East Syracuse, NY/East Syracuse-Minoa (OCC)) and junior guard
Mike Hill (Whitesboro, NY/Utica Notre Dame) both added 10 points each.
Junior forward
Jeremy Johnson (Martinsburg, WV/Martinsburg (Shepard University)) and Walsh both finished with a game-best seven rebounds.
Alfred resumes play on Sunday, Dec. 15, at 2 p.m. against Sarah Lawrence.
