BRONX, N.Y. (December 7, 2013) – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's swimming team is competing at the 2013 Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships at Lehman College in the Bronx, N.Y.
Stevens came in to Day 2 in third place after a solid showing Friday night.
Saturday Morning Session:
Sophomore
Ravi Sun continued his excellent start to the year with a win in the 200-yard backstroke, clocking an NCAA B-cut with a 1:50.93 and earning 32 points to start the day for Stevens. Senior
Nick Noga and freshman
Doug Sholander were ninth and 10th and racked up 37 points for the Ducks.
The Ducks swam remarkably in the 100-yard freestyle as seven team members finished in the top-10. Sophomore

Shawn Hanak and Noga went two-three-four to earn 86 points (46.01, 46.08, 46.89), with Hessler, junior

Junior
Price Hu clocked an NCAA B-cut with a second in the 200-yard butterfly (1:53.73) to earn 28 points, and he was followed by Lefeber in third (27 points) with a 1:54.89. Rees and freshman
Austen Young were fifth and sixth as the four Ducks combined for 104 points.
In the 200-yard breaststroke, sophomore
Dane Pilcher took third with an NCAA B-cut time of 2:05.97. Hu was second, placing 13th with a 2:18.17, while the 800-yard freestyle relay recorded a 6:50.03 which was good for a B-cut, a first place and 64 team points.
After wrapping up the morning session, the Ducks had 604 team points, second only to NYU (655).
Saturday Evening Session:
The first event in the evening session was the 200-yard freestyle relay and the Ducks earned a win with a 1:22.97. The victory brought home 64 team points and was just shy of a B-cut.
Sun and Hanak went one-two in the 100-yard backstroke with times of 51.08 and 51.15. Both times were good for B-cuts as the duo earned 60 points. Young was 10th in the 100-back.
Wolinski took the top-spot in the 200-yard freestyle, clocking a B-cut time of 1:41.08, and he was followed by Noga in second, Xu in fourth, Davis in sixth and Arnott in eighth as the Ducks placed five in the top-10. The four combined for 132 points.
Lefeber led Stevens in the 100-yard breaststroke after touching at 58.58 (third place), and he was trailed by Pilcher in sixth (58.99). Rees was second thanks to a 50.54 in the 100-yard butterfly, with senior
Mitchell Epperly in fourth, young in seventh and Hanak in eighth. Stevens earned 127 total points on the back of the 100-breast and 100-fly.
Capping the Saturday action was the 400-yard individual medley and the Ducks did well with 83 points as Sun, Lefeber and Xu all cracked the top-10. Sun won the event and 32 team points with a B-cut of 4:04.48, Lefeber was third with a 4:09.80 and Xu was sixth on the back of a 4:11.64.
After two full days, Stevens - with1,205.50 points - is in second place. BYU is in the lead with 1,244.50.
The third and final day of action will begin Sunday at 12 p.m. in the Bronx.
