BRONX, N.Y. (December 8, 2013) – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's swimming team claimed its fourth-straight Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) title Sunday. The Ducks overcame New York University and finished with 1,741 points.
NYU tallied 1,672.50 points with SUNY Oneonta taking third place with a team total of 777. A total of 14 teams competed at this year's meet hosted by Lehman College in the Bronx, N.Y.
Sophomore
Ravi Sun was named the Swimmer of the Meet after totaling 124 individual points, 11 more than sophomore teammate
Tomasz Wolinski who had 113. Five Ducks and five Violets made up the top-10 point accumulators at the meet.
Stevens opened Sunday with a win in the 400-yard medley relay, clocking a new meet-record and NCAA B-cut with a 3:30.53. The victory by Sun, sophomore

Shawn Hanak earned 64 team points.
Senior
Nick Noga won the 500-yard freestyle and 32 points with a 4:40.67, and Wolinski placed second with a 4:41.72. Freshman Conner Arnott and classmate
Mark Lippert were fourth and sixth, respectively, while Hanak and senior
Tyler Hessler tied for second in the 50-yard freestyle (21.11). Rees was fourth, senior
Joe Huyett was sixth and senior
Henry Hernandez was seventh as Ducks were in placements 2-through-7.
Sun was second in the 200-yard individual medley with a B-cut time of 1:53.23, and junior
Alex Xu placed third (1:56.27). Sophomore
Dane Pilcher was fifth as the trio combined for 80 points and essentially sealed Stevens' win.
In the final event of the afternoon, Wolinski, Lefeber, Noga and Hanak set a new meet-record and clocked a B-cut with a 3:04.07. The group brought in 64 team points.
Stevens will now head in to winter break before taking a team Training Trip in early January.
