The Alfred, Hartwick, Ithaca and Nazareth women's swimming and diving teams concluded the second day of competition at the Bomber Invitational hosted by Ithaca College on Saturday.

The Bombers opened day two with a seventh-place finish in the 4x50-yard freestyle relay. The team of Lyndsay Isaksen (East Setauket, N.Y./Ward Melville)Lauren Cox (Webster, N.Y./Webster Thomas)Megan Zart (Brecksville, Ohio/Brecksville-Broadview Heights) and Lake Duffy (Pen Argyl, Pa./Pen Argyl) took seventh out of 33 entries with a time of 1:42.22.

Senior Elizabeth Gawrys (Ballston Spa, N.Y./Ballston Spa) also earned a top-10 finish in the morning session, taking seventh place in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 4:41.37. Freshman Grace Ayer (Delmar, N.Y./Bethlehem) continued her momentum from day one, earning an 11th place finish with a time of 59.65 in the 100-yard butterfly and a fifth-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke (58.59).

In the 100-yard medley relay, Ithaca took fifth in the field of 33 entries, as the team of Kylie Bangs(Westfield, N.J./Westfield)Megan Buisman (Rochester, N.Y./Penfield), Ayer and Gawrys finished the race in 4:03.92. Buisman, Ayer, Gawrys and Wingfield also earned a fifth-place finish in the 4x200 medley relay, completing the race in 8:07.02.

Freshman Nickie Griesemer (West Chester, Pa./Bayard Rustin) earned a score of 424.40 in the 3-meter dive finishing fourth. Senior Heather Markus (Greenfield Center, N.Y./Saratoga Springs)finished in fifth place, earning a score of 413.95.  


Nazareth Recap
In the women's meet, the Golden Flyers also stood in sixth place after Saturday evening's session with 380 points. Cornell was first with 1540.5, followed by Springfield (744), Geneseo (729.5), Ithaca (555), Shippensburg (519.5) and Nazareth (380).

Senior Emily Sauter had a busy day in swimming on three relays and finishing 16th in the 100 backstroke (1:00.50). She was part of the 800 free relay that placed fourth in 8:00.24. Emma Dorschel, Amanda Rogers and Cameron Hess also competed in that event. In addition, Sauter anchored Nazareth's 200 free relay that placed fifth in 1:40.10. Bridget Geary, Karissa Kobel and Rogers also took part. Then, Sauter competed in the 400 medley relay that finished seventh in 4:07.97. Kobel and Geary also swam along with Kimberly Pedrotti.

Other highlights included Pedrotti placing 10th in the 400 IM (4:45.84); Hess finishing 11th (1:59.23) and Dorschel 15th (2:00.96) in the 200 freestyle; Geary placing 11th in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.09) and Kaitlyn Hoag finishing 14th in 3-meter diving (293.60).

Freshman Dylan Staniszewski (Oakton, VA/Oakton) was 12th in the 200 free (1:59.67) and 15th in the 400 individual medley (4:52.17). Staniszewski's time in the 400 IM established a new school record.

Sophomore Carly Watson (Hyde Park, NY/FDR) scored in three events Saturday. She was 12th in the 200 fly (2:16.25), 16th in the 100 fly (1:00.49) and 23rd in the 200 free (2:01.88). Senior Cassie Brown (Canisteo, NY/Canisteo-Greenwood) was 11th in 3-meter diving (376.45 points).

The team of senior Chrissy Behr (Manahawkin NJ/Southern Regional), sophomore Kelsey McRill (Solon, OH/Solon), Watson and Staniszewski was eighth in the 200 free relay (1:42.90); Watson, freshman Faith Lanfear (Port Crane, NY/Chenango Valley), Behr and Staniszewski was 11th in the 800 free relay (8:26.47); and Staniszewski, freshmen Kylee Proudfit (St. Marys, PA/Elk County Catholic) and Leah Zimmerman (Cannandaigua, NY/Canandaigua) and McRill took 12th in the 400 medley relay (4:32.52).
