2013 Capital One Academic All-District Teams

Nazareth junior forward Brad Ford (Victor, NY/Victor) and St. John Fisher senior center Jason Norsen (Hamburg, NY/Fontier)  have been named to the Capital One Academic All-District Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Ford and Norsen were named First Team Academic All-District 3, which consists of all Division III schools in the state of New York. To be nominated for the award, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore; have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 or better; and be a starter or significant reserve on his team. Ford and Norsen now advance to the national ballot, where they will be considered for Academic All-America honors.

Through 20 games this season, Ford is averaging 17.2 points and 10 rebounds per game. He leads the conference in rebounding and ranks second in scoring. Ford has recorded 11 double-doubles on the season which currently ranks 12th in Division III. Off the court, Ford holds a 3.80 grade point average in Business Administration. He is a member of the E8 President’s List and last season was selected as an All-Conference honorable mention.

Norsen, who has a 3.91 grade-point average in Accounting, is a member of the E8 President’s List and two-time All-conference honorable mention selection. The 6-6 center is shooting 64.4% (123-191) from the field, the highest percentage in the Empire 8 and fifth in all of Division III.  Last week he became the 20th player in Fisher history to score 1,000 points in a career. Norsen, who is Fisher's all-time leader in blocked shots, ranks seconds in Division III with a 3.65 rejections per game.
