On the final weekend of the Empire 8 regular season the Utica PIoneers have clinched a berth into the post season, joining Stevens Institute of Technology, Ithaca College and St. John Fisher College.

Stevens clinched the top seed courtesy of a victory over Alfred Friday night and Ithaca's loss to Utica at the buzzer.

Ithaca and Fisher tied with a 10-4 conference record, but the Bombers earned the No. 2 seed based on the head-to-head record against the Cardinals. 

Utica clinched the fourth seed with a win over Elmira and a Nazareth loss to Ithaca on Saturday.
  
The two semifinals matches will take place on Friday, Feb. 22 at Stevens. The two winners will meet on Saturday, Feb. 23 in the Empire 8 Championship with the winner earning an automatic bid and advancing to the 2013 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament.
