Ithaca Women lead by 11 points over Stevens after Day 3
Empire 8 Day 3 Results
The Ithaca College women's swimming & diving team reclaimed the lead with strong performances on the third of four days of competition at the Empire 8 championship meet Friday at the Athletics & Events Center Aquatics Pavilion in Ithaca, NY. The Bombers have accumulated 601 points through three days, a narrow 11 points ahead of second-place Stevens (590).
Stevens sophomore Maria McClure opened Friday's action by taking first place and carding a 2:10.31 in the 200-yard butterfly, Hartwick's Lindsay Bierwart touched second (2:11.14) to edge out Ithaca's Laura Goodwell (2:11.51).
Stevens junior Louise Moores set a championship-record with a B-cut time of 56.25 in the 100-back, while teammate Sharon Rooker placed third for the Ducks with a 58.49. Ithaca's Kylie Bangs finished second in 57.48.
Nazareth senior Carissa Risucci, placed first in the 100 breaststroke giving the Golden Flyers their first individual title of the meet. Risucci successfully defended her title in the 100 breast as she broke her own school record in the finals with a winning time of 1:03.93 (B-Cut). She finished more than a second ahead of runner-up Brittany Geyer of Stevens, who swam 1:05.10 (B-Cut).
Bomber divers placed in the top three and four of the top-five spots in the women's 1-meter diving finals. Korie Fackler added to her 3-meter title with a first-place finish on the 1-meter board. She scored 475.35 in the finals, more than 40 points better than Bomber senior Heather Markus who was second with a total of 433.15. Emily Warfle was third with 416.95 and Kloe Boeckel was fifth with a total of 414.40. Hartwick's Lindsay Bowker placed fourth in the event with a score of 415.85.
In the final event of the Day 3 finals, Elizabeth Heinbach, Jennifer Rutledge, Nicole Miller and Marissa Douglas teamed up for Stevens to produce for a B-cut time of 7:40.27 to win the 800-free relay. Hartwick finished second by less than two-tenths (7:40.44) and Ithaca took third (7:45.58).

The morning session will start at 10 a.m., while the finals will be held in the evening beginning at 6pm.
