PERRY, N.Y. (February 25, 2013) – In the newest United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Top 20 poll, the Stevens Institute of Technology men’s lacrosse team moved up one spot to No. 6 after two victories to start the season. Stevens began the season ranked seventh in the preseason poll.

The Ducks jumped up in the poll after preseason No. 1 Salisbury University lost two contests and dropped down to 10th. Stevens received 63 more points than the previous poll (293 to 230) after a 14-8 season-opening victory over the United States Merchant Marine Academy and a 21-9 blowout of Endicott College this past Sunday at the De Baun Athletic Complex.

The Ducks have two tough road tests coming up on the slate at Eastern Connecticut State University on February 27 at 4 p.m. and then travel to Springfield College at 1 p.m. on March 2.

Nazareth College and St. John Fisher College are among teams also receiving votes.  Nazareth is 1-1 on the season following a loss to ranked Stevenson and beating Springfield. The Golden Flyers will host SUNY Geneseo on Saturday, March 2.

Fisher is 1-0 after a dominate win over Geneseo.  The Cardinals will return to action at 4 p.m. on Thursday and will host Clarkson University.
