The Stevens Institute of Technology men’s basketball team finds itself back in the D3Hoops.com Top 25 after a 2-0 week that featured wins over Hartwick College and Utica College. The new poll was released February 5, and has the Ducks at No. 25.

Stevens was first seen in the poll after a 6-0 start to the season had them at No. 25 on December 2. A loss at nationally-ranked New York University dropped the Ducks out of the poll, but the Ducks re-entered after five-straight wins to begin 2013 pushed their record to 11-1 overall. Stevens climbed to No. 20 before back-to-back losses at Hartwick and Ithaca College saw the Ducks fall out of rankings, and now they are back in with an overall mark of 17-3 and an 8-2 record inside the Empire 8.

The Ducks are currently tied atop the Empire 8 standings with Ithaca with the Bombers coming to Hoboken Saturday afternoon to end a tough week of games. Stevens will visit Baruch College in the ‘Battle of Lexington’ Wednesday night, before returning to the Canavan Arena for Elmira College Friday night and Ithaca Saturday.

The Ducks are currently ranked sixth nationally in blocked shots per game (5.6) and No. 19 in field-goal percentage defense (38.4). Stevens is 22nd in won-lost percentage (85.0), 46th in scoring defense (62.3) and 48th in scoring margin (plus-9.6).
