Mitrano Named to USILA Board of Directors
Empire 8 Commissioner Chuck Mitrano has been named to the Board of Directors of the
United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA). He will serve a three-year term that begins immediately and is set to expire in December 2015.
Mitrano has been an active member of the Division III Commissioners Association (DIIICA) since becoming Empire 8 Commissioner in 2001, and most recently completed his two-year term as President of the Association. Mitrano also serves as Commissioner of the single-sport (men’s volleyball) United Volleyball Conference.
The USILA is an organization comprised of member colleges and universities which sponsor intercollegiate lacrosse for men. The USILA is entrusted to enhance and develop intercollegiate lacrosse by providing leadership, management, and services to its membership so that student-athletes, coaches, and other constituent groups will realize the maximum benefit from the sport of lacrosse. The organization oversees the officiating program for NCAA Division I, II and III men's lacrosse, as well as the operation of the North/South All-Star game, All-America and Academic All-America recognition programs and the weekly coaches' poll.
