St. John Fisher junior Justin D'Amato was named as Empire 8 Baseball Pitcher of the Week, while teammate Mike Fahy was selected as the Conference's Player of the Week.

D'Amato tossed a complete-game, shutout performance on Saturday in a 6-0 win over Union College to move the Cardinals' record to 7-2 on the year. D'Amato allowed four hits on the day, three of which came in the ninth inning. The left-handed pitcher, at one point, retired 17-straight Dutchmen hitters after surrendering a hit and a walk in the third inning with one out. He entered the ninth inning with those 17-straight outs before the first three Union hitters singled off D'Amato in the ninth before the lefty focused, striking out the next two batters swinging and inducing a groundout to end the game. D'Amato finished the contest with 10 strikeouts and picked up his 22nd career win, tying the College's career mark.

Fahy, a junior first baseman, went 8-for-18 (.444) in Fisher's eight games in Florida.  He also drove in three runs, including two in Fisher's 9-5 win over Penn State-Altoona.   In Fisher's game against Coe College, he recorded a career-high four hits.   He was also a perfect 3-for-3 in stolen bases.
