The Bombers scored all three of their runs in the top of the second and got an outstanding pitching performance from Sam Bender, who pitched all seven innings and earned the win with three strikeouts. She allowed just four hits and didn't walk a single batter.
Ithaca started its three-run rally with singles by Casey Gavin and Jennifer Biondi and they both came in to score on a three-run homer by Brooke Powers. Powers also singled in the fourth, and the other Bomber hit came from Julianne Vincent.

The Bombers trailed 3-2 headed to the top of the seventh inning, but Powers came through again. Ithaca College scored three times in the seventh to take the lead as Kelly Robichaud singled to start the inning and pinch-runner Kristalyn Yonkin advanced on a sacrifice bunt. Julianne Vincent reached on an error and Francesca Busa singled to bring home Yonkin to tie the game. After a strikeout, Powers delivered a double to the outfield fence to score Vincent and Busa to put the Bombers up by two.
Bender worked the sixth and seventh innings to pick up the victory in relief. She allowed a run on two doubles in the bottom of the seventh, and with two outs a single up the middle looked like it might tie the game, but Biondi came up throwing and a strong tag play by Robichaud on a collision at the plate retired the potential game-tying run.
Robichaud had two hits and also reached base with a walk. Busa was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI.
