Houghton Loses to Oswego at Home
HOUGHTON, N.Y. -- The home lacrosse season officially got underway for the Highlander women in a 21-0 loss to Oswego State at Burke Field on Wednesday.
The Highlanders were unable to string together much of an offensive attack or slow down the Lakers.
Oswego led 13-0 at the half and outshot the Highlanders 31-5, including a 25-3 advantage in shots on goal.
Oswego led in ground balls, 25-24, and turnovers were 27-24 in favor of the Lakers.
Carly Congilosi (0-1) started in goal, allowing 16 goals and making four saves in 54 minutes. Lauren Niswander allowed five goals in six minutes of play.
The Highlanders (0-2) return to action on Saturday, March 16 as they travel to take on Hiram College for a 2 p.m. contest.
