Brockport, NY – The EC Men’s Lacrosse team was down early, but was just short of completing a comeback against SUNY Brockport falling 7-6 Saturday afternoon in Brockport. The Golden Eagles improve to 1-4, while the Soaring Eagles fall to 1-3.

In the beginning the Brockport Golden Eagles dominated scoring the game’s first three goals in the first five minutes. Elmira was able to get in the game around the 10 minute mark of the quarter when Brian Conzola ’14 found the back of the net for his first score of the game. Around the seven minute mark of the first quarter Jackson Correia ’14 found Eric David ’15 who put into the back of the net to make it 3-2. However, the rest of the quarter would be controlled by the Golden Eagles who scored two more goals to make it 5-2. In the second quarter the combo of David Evert ’14 and Correia came through for two goals to make it a one goal lead. Brockport had one more opportunity towards the end of the quarter to extend its lead and they did just that when Jesse Elliott passed it over to Sean McCaffrey for the score to make it 6-4 at halftime.

Out of the halftime break EC was fired up and ready with Evert passing it up to Christian Archambeault ’14 for the score. In the fourth quarter the game continued to go back and forth with both teams playing hard of the defensive side. With about two minutes left Brady Richards ’14 was able to find Conzola for his second score of the game and narrow down the lead. However, the Golden Eagles were able to hold off EC from getting another score earning its first win of the season.
