Ithaca Women’s Basketball Team Ranks 15th in Final WBCA Poll
LILBURN, Ga. – The Ithaca College women's basketball team (27-3) ranks 15th in the final
USA Today Sports Top 25 Coaches' Poll. The Bombers ranked 21st in the Feb. 26 poll entering the NCAA Tournament.
The Bombers rank in the top 15 of three categories in the final NCAA statistical rankings. Ithaca sits eighth with a scoring defense of 46.9 points, 11th with an assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.05 and 12th with a won-lost percentage of 90.0.
Ithaca recorded a school-record 27 victories and advanced to the NCAA round of 16 for the second time in program history. The Bombers’ three losses were the fewest since Ithaca went 14-3 in the 1977-78 campaign.
Stevens Institute of Technology ranked 14th in blocked shots with 5.4 per game.
Individually, Nazareth freshman Lindsey Kelly finished her rookie campaign ranked third in field goal percentage (58.3), while Hartwick freshman Brittany Dumas ranked 23rd (52.6).
