Fisher Splits At Neumann
The St. John Fisher College earned a split in its doubleheader at Neumann University on Sunday. The Cardinals lost a 1-0 decision in eight innings in the opener, but rallied in the nightcap to pick up a 6-1 win in game two.
Game One: Neumann 1, Fisher 0 (8 innings)
Mike Fahy and Sean Osterman each finsihed with two hits for the Cardinals. Aaron Benton was tagged with the loss, pitching 0.1 innings, allowing one hit and one unearned run. All-American pitcher Justin D'Amato started the game and went five inning scoreless innings, allowing five hits, while striking out four.
Game Two: Fisher 6, Neumann 1
Mike Rynerson went seven innings, giving up just four hits and striking out six in the complete-game win, the first of his career. Bryant Moore hit a two-run triple, while Ben Bostick also drove in two runs. Fahy scored two runs and stole two bases, while Chris Roeder, Brad Rush, Nick Flemister, Mike Roman and Osterman each picked up a base hit and scored a run.
