Locastro and Courter Tabbed Player and Pitcher of the Week
Junior shortstop Tim Locastro of the Ithac College baseball team was named Empire 8 Player of the Week and Stevens Institute of Technology senior Tyler Courter was named the Pitcher of the Week.
Locastro batted .636 (7-for-11) over three games, leading Ithaca College to a sweep of Houghton. He had four RBIs and scored six runs, while stealing four bases. His on-base percentage was .714 and two of his seven hits were triples.
Ithaca will travel to Cortland Wednesday, March 27 for a 3 p.m. non-conference game.
Courter tossed eight innings to pick up the 3-2 victory against Franklin and Marshall and struck out 11 batters with no walks. He gave up just four hits and two earned runs for his third win this season.
Stevens takes on William Paterson University on Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. at Dobbelaar Field. The Ducks will then host Empire 8 rival St. John Fisher College on Friday and Saturday for two doubleheaders to kick off conference play.
