Stevens and Ithaca Ranked in Latest USILA National Standings; Nazareth Receiving Votes
The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) released its weekly top 20 poll and the Stevens Institute of Technology men’s team stayed at No. 10, while Ithaca College improved to No. 15. Nazareth College is among teams also receiving votes.
Stevens came away with a hard-fought 12-11 battle against Montclair State University last week. Next up for the Ducks is Alfred University at 1 p.m. on March 30 to kick off the Empire 8 Conference schedule in Alfred, N.Y.
The Bombers upended Oneonta, 14-4, in their home opener on March 20 at Higgins Stadium but then suffered a 9-8 double-overtime loss at top-ranked Cortland on March 22– its first loss of the season.
Ithaca is slated to host Oswego, who is receiving votes in the poll, at 4 p.m. March 26 and 14th-ranked Cabrini for a 4 p.m. battle on March 29.
Nazareth scored a 9-5 win over Amherst in a non-conference game played at SUNY Albany on March 23. The victory boosted Nazareth's overall record to 5-3. The Golden Flyers open their Empire 8 schedule March 27 with a home game against Utica at 4 p.m.
