Long and Sidnam Claim E8 Weekly Nods

Ithaca College junior Jake Long and freshman Scott Sidnam claimed the Empire 8 Men’s Lacrosse Player and Goalie of the Week honor.

Long was one of two Bombers to score eight points during the week, all of which came from goals. He posted a career-best five goals in the Bombers' 14-4 victory over Oneonta on March 20, before adding a hat trick in Ithaca's double overtime heart-breaking 9-8 loss at top-ranked Cortland Friday, March 22. Long collected three ground balls, while committing just two turnovers and shooting .588 percent in the 1-1 week for Ithaca.

Sidnam stopped 27 shots on goal in a 1-1 week for the Bombers. The rookie matched his career-high with 11 saves in Ithaca's 14-4 rout of Oneonta, before increasing his career-high to 16 saves in 66:08 minutes of action at top-ranked Cortland. He collected four ground balls and forced one turnover during the week.

The 15th-ranked Bombers return to action on Tuesday, March 26 hosting Oswego at 4 p.m. Note that the game has been changed from Wednesday at Oswego to be played Tuesday at Ithaca.
