Hartwick sophomore Emily Jweid and Elmira senior Mary kate Gellerman have been named the Empire 8 Conference Women's Lacrosse Player and Goalie of the Week.
           
Jweid totaled 11 goals, four assists, 15 points, and 17 draw controls while shooting 65% this week to lead Hartwick to a 2-0 week.

She erupted for career-highs of five goals, three assists, and eight points as Hartwick defeated Houghton, 20-8, on Saturday. She also equaled a career-best with seven draws and collected three ground balls and two caused turnovers.
          
Jweid waited just over 24 hours for several of her personal bests to fall as she scored a career-high six goals and grabbed a career-high 10 draw controls in an 18-11 victory over Cazenovia Sunday. She added a pair of ground balls in the game and finished the week scoring on 11 of her 17 shots (.647).
           
The Hawks (3-3) are riding a two-game winning streak. They travel to Keuka College on Wednesday, March 27 at 7 p.m.

Gellerman allowed three goals in 60 minutes of action over two games and posted a 57.1 save percentage. On Saturday against Nichols she played the entire second half making one save and giving up just one goal. The senior earned the start against Misericordia on Sunday making three saves in the win playing the first half.

Elmira opens Empire 8 play Friday, March 29 when it travels to Pittsford, NY to take on St. John Fisher College starting at 4:00 p.m.
