ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Host Rochester swept through Nazareth Thursday as the Yellowjackets claimed a 9-0 men's tennis vistory over the Golden Flyers at the Goergen Athletic Center.
Despite the defeat that dropped the Golden Flyers to 1-7 overall, Nazareth played in some close matches, including first singles, where senior
Ryan McCormick lost a grueling three-setter to UR's Boris Borovcanin 6-3, 5-7, 6-4. It was just the second dual meet singles loss and the fourth defeat overall for McCormick, who has an overall record of 11-4.
At second and third singles respectively
Jeremy Mancus and
Erik Manske each lost first-set tiebreakers. Mancus lost 7-6, 7-5 to Julian Danko and Manske fell 7-6, 6-1 to Matthew Levine.
Nazareth also dropped a close match at second doubles, where Mancus and Manske lost to UR's team of Joel Allen and Ian Baranowski 9-7.
Nazareth plays again Tuesday at Hobart at 4 p.m.
