UTICA v ST. JOHN FISHER
The bats came alive as the Utica College softball team picked up two huge Empire 8 Conference victories over visiting St. John Fisher College, 6-2 and 8-2, on Sunday afternoon at Greenman Field. UC used five home runs on the day to down the Cardinals.

ITHACA v NAZARETH
The Ithaca College softball team (16-8, 6-2 Empire 8) claimed a pair of Empire 8 victories from Nazareth (5-15, 3-7 Empire 8) Sunday afternoon at Kostrinsky Field. The Bombers blanked the Golden Flyers 6-0 in the first, before defeating Nazareth 5-1 in the second. The Bombers return to action on Tuesday, April 16 hosting Oneonta for a double header at 3 p.m.

STEVENS v HOUGHTON
Freshman
Kelsey Dempsey (Broomfield, Colo.) drove in six runs and junior
Danielle DeFeo (Andover, N.J.) recorded five consecutive hits to end the day as the Stevens Institute of Technology softball team swept a doubleheader from new Empire 8 Conference foe Houghton College early Sunday afternoon.
Stevens improves to 4-24 overall and 2-8 in Empire 8 play, although the wins today will not count toward postseason qualification, as Houghton is in an exploratory year as a member of Division III and the Empire 8. The Highlanders drop to 1-15 (0-8).

ALFRED v PENN COLLEGE
The Alfred University softball team opened Harrington Park, the University’s new on-campus field, with a doubleheader sweep of Penn College Sunday afternoon. The Saxons (14-10) took the opener, 9-0, and completed the sweep with a 15-0 win; both games ended after five innings.
